PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS BY LELA STANKOVIC
Hi! I am Lela, an artist based in Toronto, Canada.
What really fascinates me and definitely motivates me to draw and paint is LIGHT. There is such a magical beauty, mysterious haziness and dreadful darkness all created simply by light.
This blog was created to follow me through my quest of “catching” the elusive beauty... seeing through the blinding brightness of sunshine and play of the dawn shadows... and reawakening an urge to touch and feel.
I welcome everyone to join me in this journey of discovering light and documenting its presence among us through my simple, small world of art & creativity... Enjoy!
I would love to hear from you! Drop me a mail at: lelacreations@yahoo.com

Wow-wee! This is stunning!
Lela, You are so Awesome!! wowie, the leaves blow me away, how realistic and you colors choices are amazing. How many glazes did you do?
Thanks so much Caroline for your kind words!
Sheila : I am so glad you like the painting.
I painted the leaves laying down between 3 and 10 transparent color washes depending on the area. I took care that each segment was painted separately allowing previous layers to fully dry. This results in glowing optical color mixing' versus 'mechanical mixing'.
Thanks again!
